I have Roma, Big Beef, and Cherry tomatoes, but I haven’t seen evidence of hookworm feeding yet. I’d like to find an eco-friendly preventative method, if there is such a thing.

Any ideas?

Aren’t hook worms the ones that hide at the base of the plant? If it is I’ve heard of putting collars on your plants. Cardboard and tinfoil are two that I’ve heard of but not sure which one is better. Let me know.
Yes, it is call Thuracide Baccillius. A naturally occurring fungus that attacks certain caterpillars such as Tomato Horn Worm, Tobacco Horn Worm and others.
It has no effects on people, animals and other worms.
Thuracide is grown in the lab, and then sold so you can spray it in your garden to get rid of vegetable eating caterpillars. Buy it at most garden shops.
I don’t think you have to worry about hookworm on your tomatoes, its a parasite. At first site of the tomato worm ( big green ugly thing) water plants and sprinkle flour over the leaves. They can’t digest it and will die.
Yes, there is an eco-friendly way. Simply remove the tomatoes and leave them to ripen on a windowsil indoors. The hookworm can only sit outside… drooling… at your lovely tomatoes.
Or failing that, green tomoatoes make a lovely chutney
Hope this helps
what i use on all my plants to rid of all insects/worms, etc. is about a tablespoon of dish soap (ivory or ajax something mild) in a spray bottle of water, works very well
there is stuff that is sold in home depot that kills that stuff and it works really well.
